This former brickworks on the border between Ashingdon and Hawkwell has developed into an attractive nature park with a variety of habitats, alongside relics of its industrial past. It has flower-rich meadows, marshy areas, a long pond, patches of scrub and a patch of light woodland, mainly hawthorn.

It is particularly good for birds, with greatest numbers in the breeding season but in winter it often attracts bullfinches, which are increasingly scarce elsewhere. .

Visiting

On Rectory Road, which runs from Hall Road, Hawkwell (B1013) to Ashingdon Road, Ashingdon. Turn off just beyond (east of) the railway.

Accessible at all times.

Surfaced bridleway runs the length of the reserve.
